Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, head of the Ministry of Tourism, cut the ribbon to inaugurate the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026, which has Mexico as its guest of honor. This is a recognition of one of the most important countries for the sector, which also plays a leading role in public policy.
The secretary was accompanied by officials such as Mexico's ambassador to Spain, Quirino Ordaz Coppel; the governor of Tlaxcala, Lorena Cuéllar; and the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama.

Under the slogan "Mexico is in fashion," the activities of this event began, which seeks to promote tourism in our country. But it is not only about visitors and the presence of tour operators, but also about companies in the sector that are committed to investing in Aztec soil.
The Ministry of Tourism reported that Mexico will be represented by all 32 states of the Republic at FITUR 2026. Representatives from each state will showcase the diversity of destinations, traditions, and experiences that make Mexico a global benchmark.
The Mexico Pavilion is a meeting point where culture, crafts, gastronomy, and creativity converge, both inside and outside the fairgrounds, bringing the essence of our country to Madrid. This is thanks to the proposal that has been organized by the federal government for the past year.
"During these days, our culture comes to life through artisanal, cultural, and gastronomic activities, both inside and outside the venue, bringing the soul of Mexico to every corner," said Josefina Rodríguez Zamora.
FITUR 2026, inaugurated this Wednesday by Mexico's Ministry of Tourism, will take place at IFEMA from January 21 to 25, 2026.
