Tourism as a driver of inclusion and well-being in Mexico

The Secretary of Tourism highlighted that the sector has become the main generator of employment for young people and the second for women in Mexico. In this way, the country reaffirms its role as an inclusive and strategic sector for social development.

"Tourism drives the economy and opens up opportunities for Mexican families to improve their well-being. Every job that is created represents more development and growth opportunities for society," said Rodríguez Zamora.

The data comes from the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOEN), validated by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) and the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), within the Specialized Technical Committee on Economic Statistics for the Tourism Sector (CTEEEST).

The head of Sectur emphasized that, under the vision of President Claudia Sheinbaum, tourism must be strengthened as a strategic driver for economic growth and social welfare, reinforcing its role as a central industry in the creation of jobs and opportunities throughout Mexico.
