On Tuesday, November 4, the Mexican Ministry of Tourism, headed by Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, officially presented the seventh edition of the Tianguis Nacional de Pueblos Mágicos Hidalgo 2025, an event that seeks to celebrate the cultural, gastronomic, and tourist wealth of Mexico's 177 Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns).
The event will take place from November 13 to 16, 2025, in Real del Monte and Pachuca, consolidating the state of Hidalgo as a hub for tourism with identity and tradition.
A tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Pueblos Mágicos program
During the presentation, Marte Luis Molina Orozco, general director of Social Management of Destinations, highlighted that the Pueblos Mágicos program will celebrate its 24th anniversary in 2025 and its 25th anniversary in 2026, coinciding with the World Cup year.
"This program seeks to preserve customs and gastronomy and generate strategies that promote the development of the country's 177 Magical Towns,"said Molina Orozco.
He also recalled that this year saw the completion of the National Strategy for Strengthening Magical Towns, which will make it possible to identify how many towns are already established, which are under development, and which are emerging.
Hidalgo: Headquarters and heart of tourism with identity
Hidalgo is home to the National Marketplace of Magical Towns, in recognition of Huasca de Ocampo, Mexico's first Magical Town.
Since its creation in 2019, the state has hosted the event three times, positioning itself as a national benchmark for cultural and artisanal tourism.
In 2025, the event will bring together more than 90 national and international buyers, representatives from the 177 Pueblos Mágicos(Magical Towns), and an estimated 60,000 to 70,000 visitors, generating an economic impact of more than 40 million pesos.
Real del Monte and Pachuca ready to welcome thousands of visitors
The official opening will take place on November 13 at 6:00 p.m. in Real del Monte, with free transportation from the Pachuca Fairgrounds, where all activities will take place starting on November 14.
The venue will feature food, craft, and traditional medicine pavilions, as well as the Mega Dome of the Stars, which will be the main stage for cultural performances.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy the "Made in Mexico" Pavilion, the Business Meeting Pavilion, inclusive spaces, academic seminars, and tourism training conferences.
Culture, cuisine, and tradition all in one place
Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora emphasized that this event seeks to bring Mexican families closer to the cultural, gastronomic, and artisanal treasures that each Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) has to offer.
"It's a free event open to the public because we want all of Mexico to learn about the stories, customs, and traditions that identify us as a nation,"said Rodríguez.
He also highlighted the importance of Real del Monte as the inaugural venue, as it receives a significant influx of tourists every weekend and, by the date of the Tianguis, hotel occupancy already exceeds 80%.
Hidalgo promotes tourism with a social vision and free of charge
For his part, Salvador Navarrete Zorrilla, Hidalgo's undersecretary of tourism, emphasized that all the stands will be financed by the Hidalgo government, thanks to the support of Governor Julio Menchaca and State Secretary Elizabeth Quintanar, reaffirming the state's commitment to inclusive and sustainable tourism.
"This year, all spaces are free of charge. The Pueblos Mágicos just need to come and show their essence. It is a recognition of the work of each community,"said Navarrete.
