The Mexican Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, made a working visit to Acapulco to supervise progress in the organization of Tianguis Turístico México 2026, which will take place from April 27 to 30, 2026, as part of the 50th anniversary of the most important event in the national tourism sector.
During her visit, the head of the Secretary of Tourism (Sectur) held a planning and follow-up meeting with the Secretary of Tourism of Guerrero, Simón Quiñones Orozco, in which she highlighted that the work is progressing positively, with a solid agenda and increasingly refined coordination between state governments, the private sector, and technical teams.

Coordination between the Federation and Guerrero for the 2026 Tianguis Turístico
Rodríguez Zamora acknowledged the support of the Government of the State of Guerrero and emphasized that the work done in advance provides certainty and allows for more efficient strategic planning. He indicated that there is already a clear roadmap to consolidate Tianguis Turístico México 2026 as the main meeting point for tourism in the country.
The federal official noted that the purpose of the tour was to review progress, identify challenges, and define the next steps in the organizational process, emphasizing that planning and daily coordination will be key to the success of the event.
Guerrero takes on the challenge of a historic edition of the Tianguis Turístico
For his part, Guerrero's Secretary of Tourism, Simón Quiñones Orozco, stated that the state administration, led by Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda, is taking on the challenge with determination and strategic vision, with the aim of creating an unprecedented edition based on innovative proposals that will strengthen tourism in all states of the country.

As part of the tour, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora visited key facilities such as Expo Mundo Imperial, the Hotel Princess Mundo Imperial, and the GNP Arena to inspect the infrastructure and verify its capacity to accommodate buyers, exhibitors, and national and international visitors.
The secretary highlighted that Acapulco is showing a solid recovery, registering a hotel occupancy rate of 86.9 percent on the last weekend of the year, reflecting tourist confidence and joint efforts to strengthen the destination. Finally, she reiterated President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's invitation to visit the port and enjoy Guerrero's extensive cultural and tourist agenda.
